"I'm always grateful for the opportunity to attend international conferences where so much sharing of knowledge and understanding of best practices can be had. Recently, I was fortunate to visit the city of La Paz in the Plurinacional State of Bolivia to attend the annual meeting of the COPOLAD III Program. This was followed by a high-level meeting of the EU-CELAC Coordination Mechanism on Drugs.

It was fantastic to see the progress in drug research, policy design and implementation that is occurring all over our hemisphere and into the EU territories. While there is much work still to be done, this progress is key to building systems that recognize the specificities of our societies and the challenges we face as we chart our developmental paths."
